Paleo Desert

The Paleo diet has taken off in a big way. So many people have benefited from this diet and that is saying a lot since you will find tons of diets on the market, which will guarantee you nothing but empty promises. This is a carefully designed diet, which is actually what people were eating from back in the days were eating, which is why it is known as the hunter-gatherer diet.

Dieters often crave something in their diet, which is nice and sweet and this is not always possible. However, the paleo diet is very versatile and there are times where you can have something, which will fill the gap. The perfect paleo dessert could consist of grilled fruit or even something like a chocolate custard, which has been specially designed for the paleo diet.

Here are a couple of suggestions to get you started:

*Chocolate Custard
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 tsp cinnamon
1 can coconut milk
- Heat the coconut milk and add the chocolate chips to it along with the cinnamon.
-Keep on stirring until they combine well.
-You can flavor the custard in different ways, such as vanilla or peppermint.

*Grilled Peaches

4 peaches will serve 4 people.
-Just slit these in four places and pop them in boiling water for a few seconds so you are able to take the skin off easily.
-Now quarter them or halve them and take the pips out before you place them on a heated grill pan. Press them down so you make some nice marks on the peaches.
-They taste great with some cinnamon sprinkled on top.

Grilled Banana

Another way of making a paleo dessert in a healthy way
2 bananas
Cinnamon
-Slice the bananas in half lengthways and sprinkle on the cinnamon.
-Brush a little olive oil on each slice
-Press down on a heated grill pan and enjoy

*Shortbread Cookies
2 cups almond flour
1/4 cups coconut flour
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 cups raw honey
1/2 cups pasteurized butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
-Whisk the dry ingredients together in a bowl
-Add the butter, vanilla and the honey
-Combine the ingredients until they form the bread crumb consistency.

-The mixture should be light and fall through your fingers.
-Place dough between two pieces of parchment paper.
-Roll the dough into a rectangular-like shape and then cut with a knife into individual bars.
-Place the bars onto a cookie sheet and bake for about 12 minutes or until the edges start to turn golden brown on the edges.

Mint Chocolate-chip ice-cream

There are some people on the paleo diet who believe that dairy is also out of the question, but for those who believe that dairy is still acceptable then this is something that you have to try out.
1 can coconut milk
4 Tbsp raw honey
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
1 tsp peppermint flavoring
1/2 cup baby spinach leaves

-Blend spinach, coconut milk, and honey together on high until smooth.
-Add peppermint and vanilla and mix together. You can add this to your liking.
-Pour into an ice-cream maker or a frozen bowl and freeze accordingly.
-Add in the chocolate chips whilst the ice-cream is still soft.
It's as easy as that!
