The first shipment of Japanese medicine (Avigan) will arrive in the country next week, after its positive results in clinical trials conducted by many countries to treat coronavirus, said Kuwait’s Health Ministry Friday.

Dr., Abdullah Al-Bader  Assistant Undersecretary for Medicines and Medical Equipment Affairs at the Ministry in a statement to KUNA. , affirmed that the primary shipment of the drug comes within the emergency response and humanitarian purposes and doesn't carry a billboard value from the Japanese government.

The medicine’s use is going to be in accordance with the rules prepared by Japan and consistent with the recommendations of the planet Health Organization and therefore the regulations followed in Kuwait, Al-Bader added.
Al-Bader lauded the close-to-three-month coordination between the Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs, and therefore the Kuwait Embassy in Tokyo as it was an agreement. reached between the governments of Kuwait and Japan on April 19, 2020, and between Kuwait and the UN Office for Project Services on April 30, 2020, and May 19, 2020, to provide the medicine.
Furthermore, Al-Bader expected to also receive the (Remdesivir) medicine during the present month, which is among the treatments which will be evaluated for its safety and effectiveness within the worldwide initiative launched by the World Health Organization and its partners, entitled(KUNA)
