Tone That Tummy - Simple Abs Exercises Anyone Can Do

Everybody wants them. You see the stars have them in movies and on television shows. All of the most beautiful models, both men, and women seem to have them on your magazine covers. We're talking abdominal muscles, abs, a six-pack. Call them what you want, abdominals are easier said than done.
You see, there is no getting around the need to do abdominal exercises to get your six-pack. Sure, there are commercials on late-night television that promise a fit tummy without abs exercise using electroshock machines. You probably have also seen those ads for crazy contraptions that supposedly you only need to use for 5 minutes. Then presto, voila - you have a flat stomach.
Face it, folks, you'll need a couple of real-deal abdominal exercises to get the job done. We're talking sit-ups, leg lifts, and crunches. We're talking abs exercise that will leave your stomach muscles burning, your skin sweating, and you're lungs out of breath. Headed back to your couch?
If not, then you truly want abs of steel. You can have them, too, with a few sets of abdominal exercises done every other day. For starters, beginners should try a basic abs exercise, such as the crunch. This simple but effective maneuver is done lying on your back. Bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor. Cup your hands behind your head. Then lift your head and your upper back off the ground. Don't pull them up with your arms. Rather, feel your abdominal muscles do all the work. A few inches off the ground will do.
Another basic but powerful abs exercise is the leg lift. This exercise is again done while lying on your back. This time, place your hands underneath your buttocks or the small of your back. Keeping your legs straight and together, lift them about six inches off the ground. Hold for five seconds. Then lower them down and repeat (and repeat and repeat). Again, the key is feeling the muscles in your stomach doing all of the work. Try to keep your leg muscles out of it as much as possible.
Armed with those two abdominal exercises alone, you can work wonders on your tummy. You'll have it in beach shape in no time.
